The mysterious “face" of the Icelandic electronic scene 

Mighty Bear is an Icelandic electronic music artist, dj, producer, and drag performer based in Reykjavík. The project fuses haunting synth soundscapes, melancholic vocals, and theatrical drag aesthetics. An immersive audio-visual experience that blends abstract electronic pop with stage spectacle.

A performer who truly understands the art of spectacle, Mighty Bear dispels any notion of static, uninspired performances. The shows are an audio-visual feast, featuring glittering gowns, towering heels, ethereal film imagery, masks, wigs, and a commanding stage presence. Emerging in ghostly, glamorous masks to a backdrop of intense yet ethereal beats, Mighty Bear reigns as the undisputed dark queen of Reykjavík's electronica scene.

Mighty Bear made their debut at Iceland Airwaves in 2017, earning early acclaim from The Reykjavík Grapevine. Since then, the artist has performed at major Icelandic festivals including Iceland Airwaves, Sónar Reykjavík, and Secret Solstice, with additional international appearances in Italy and Belgium.

Notable collaborators include Icelandic artists Hermigervill, Ragnar Zolberg, and Einar Indra. Mighty Bear has released music through Iceland-based independent channels and the American label OIM Records, expanding the project's reach beyond Iceland.

In 2024, Mighty Bear released Angurværð , an EP that distills the project's signature blend of Icelandic melancholy and sombre electronic textures. The release has been praised for its emotional depth and inventive sound design, reaffirming Mighty Bear's place as a bold voice in Iceland's electronic music landscape.
